New book, The Russians in Cuba,
Presented in Havana

An approach to the history of
relations between Russia and the largest island of the West Indies, is
found in the book The Russians in Cuba, presented today by its authors
in Havana.
The text summarizes years of
research by Alexander Moiseev, press counselor of the Embassy of the
Eurasian country in Havana, and his wife, researcher Olga Egorova who,
near the end of his diplomatic mission, wanted to leave the testimony of
a "friendship
deep. "
Published by Casa Editora Abril,
the book contains aspects of a relationship that dates back to the
eighteenth century. It shares important spaces in the history of both
peoples, ties that had their maximum expression in the Soviet era and
which was revived today, said AIN.
The Cuban Institute of Friendship
with the Peoples hosted the presentation of the text, which incorporates
aspects of commercial ties between both nations in the colonial period
of Cuba, José Martí's admiration for the poet and writer Alexander
Pushkin, the participation of three Russian mambises
the Cuban libertarian
epoch, among other issues.
Mikhail Moiseev Kamynin recalled
recent statements by the Russian ambassador to the Island, who said: "We
were together through thick and thin. And we'll keep writing our history
together."
This year marks five decades since
the restoration of relations between both nations who work closely in
addressing the global economic crisis, climate change, natural disasters,
and which coincide in the effort to build a multi-polar world based on
ideals of
justice and peace.

Los rusos en Cuba

Una aproximación a la historia de las relaciones entre
Rusia y la Mayor de las Antillas, ofrece el libro Los rusos en
Cuba, presentado hoy por sus autores en La Habana.
El texto resume años de investigación de Alexander Moiséev, consejero de
prensa de la embajada de ese país euroasiático en La Habana, y su
esposa, la investigadora Olga Egórova, quienes, casi al finalizar su
misión diplomática, quisieron dejar el testimonio de una "amistad
profunda".
Publicado por la casa editorial Abril, el libro recoge aspectos de una
relación que se remonta al siglo XVIII y comparte importantes espacios
de la historia de ambos pueblos, vínculos que tuvieron su expresión
máxima en la etapa soviética y se reimpulsan hoy, dijo la AIN.
El Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos acogió la presentación
del texto, que recoge aspectos de los nexos comerciales entre ambas
naciones en el período colonial cubano, la admiración de José Martí por
el poeta y escritor Alexander Pushkin, la participación de tres mambises
rusos en la gesta libertaria cubana, entre otros asuntos.
Moiséev evocó recientes declaraciones Mikhaíl Kamynin, embajador ruso en
la Isla, quien afirmó: "Estuvimos juntos en las buenas y en las malas. Y
nos mantendremos juntos escribiendo nuestra historia".
Este año se celebran las cinco décadas del restablecimiento de las
relaciones entre ambas naciones, que colaboran estrechamente en el
enfrentamiento a la crisis económica global, el cambio climático, los
desastres naturales, y coinciden en el esfuerzo de construir un mundo
multipolar sobre la base de ideales de justicia y paz.
