houses to newlyweds

Evo Morales announced the launching of a
new social program to fund housing for newlyweds.
"To every couple who marries, the state has to give them a house. This
will be our program and the government is obliged to meet this demand",
he said yesterday in a speech at Villa Tunari
(Chapare) to officially open the registry office.
Should it materialize, this would be the sixth social program
implemented by the governmental MAS party. Three of them are based on
permanent bonuses, whereas two others lay down a single, exceptional
payment.
Bonuses providing fixed payments are: Renta
Dignidad (2.400 Bolivianos a year for people over the age of 60);
Juancito Pinto (200 Bolivianos a year for school age children) and Juana
Azurduy (1.820 Bolivianos to be paid in installments at prenatal and
postpartum controls and medical checkups of children under two).
The single and exceptional bonuses are for Public Officials (a thousand
Bolivianos) and distinguished citizens. [Bolivian Finance] Minister Arce
recalled this is the third time that former fighters receive payment,
after 2006 (1.500 Bolivianos) and 2008 (.650 Bolivianos). Add to this
the recently announced single bonus worth 1.815 Bolivianos issued for
the benefit of those who did great services during the Chaco War.
At the same time, Morales reminded voters of the social policies his
government has undertaken since he took office “in favor of Bolivia’s
neediest”, which the audience rewarded with great applause.
All social programs designed by the current Government are funded by the
National Treasury with State-owned resources coming from taxes levied on
oil companies following the reform and nationalization laws approved in
2006.

Morales anunció que pondrá en marcha un nuevo programa social
que financiará una casa para las parejas que contraigan
matrimonio. "A la pareja que se casa, el Estado tiene que darle una casa. Ese será nuestro programa y el Gobierno está obligado a atender esta demanda", dijo ayer el Mandatario en un discurso pronunciado en Villa Tunari (Chapare), en la inauguración del registro en el Padrón Biométrico. Cuando se concrete, éste sería el sexto programa social que lanza el Gobierno del MAS; tres son bonos fijos y dos establecen un pago único y excepcional. Los bonos que otorgan una cancelación fija son: Renta Dignidad (2.400 bolivianos anuales para los mayores de 60 años); el Juancito Pinto (200 bolivianos al año para los escolares de hasta sexto de primaria) y el Juana Azurduy (1.820 bolivianos pagados en cuotas en los controles prenatales, posparto y chequeos de menores de dos años). Los bonos únicos y excepcionales son el del Funcionario Público (mil bolivianos) y el de los beneméritos. El ministro Arce recordó que es la tercera oportunidad que se paga a los ex combatientes. La primera fue el 2006 (1.500 bolivianos) y la segunda el 2008 (1.650 bolivianos). A ellos se suma el recientemente anunciado bono único de 1.815 bolivianos en favor de los beneméritos de la Guerra del Chaco. A tiempo de dar el anuncio del nuevo programa, ayer, Morales subrayó la importancia de las políticas sociales que pone en vigor durante su gestión “en favor de los más necesitados del país”. La audiencia agradeció el ofrecimiento con una larga ovación. Todos los programas sociales del actual Gobierno son financiados por el Tesoro General de la Nación (TGN) a través de los recursos obtenidos por el Estado de los tributos que pagan las petroleras en el marco de las reformas y la nacionalización aplicadas al sector desde el 2006. |
