Subject: Humanitarian Aid Shipment report!
Dear friends,
Thanks to your support of our campaign to send relief to the victims of the
three major hurricanes that recently devastated vast parts of Cuba, four members
of the St. Augustine-Baracoa Friendship Association went to Halifax, Nova Scotia
last week to prepare and load a 40 ft. container for Cuba.
They worked together with members of the Nova Scotia-Cuba Association and the
Parker St. Food and Furniture Bank to fill the container with much needed
supplies of mattresses, clothing, shoes, linens, kitchen supplies and food. The
ship is on its way to Moa where the donations will be off loaded and trucked
directly to Baracoa.
This is an ongoing campaign. The devastation of homes and crops was extensive
and food shortages will be chronic for several seasons. We will keep you posted
about future shipments.
Sincere thanks,
Len, Kristy, Jo and Sole
